Who we are

Atlas Showdown is a daily geography card game run by its owner. Questions about your data: finleyvoigt@gmail.com.

What we store

To play you don't need an account. On your first visit we create an anonymous player ID and keep it in a cookie on your device, so your games, streak and badges belong to you.

For every board you play we store your lineup, the mode, the time you submitted and, in Pro, the flags you named. We use this to calculate results, leaderboards and badges.

In rooms we store the room name, who is in it, the nickname you chose and which puzzles are rounds.

If you add an email address, we store it to send you sign-in links. You can choose a public username for the leaderboards. We never show your email to anyone.

Your browser also keeps a few things locally (for example an unfinished lineup), which never leave your device.

What we don't do

No advertising trackers, no selling of data, no profiles for marketing. We don't ask for your real name, age or address.

There are no ads right now. If that changes we will ask for your consent first where the law requires it, and update this page.

Where your data lives

The database is hosted by Supabase in Frankfurt (EU). The website runs on Vercel. Both act as our processors.

Country data comes from public sources (see Countries & Data); no personal data is sent to them.

Visitor statistics

We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics to see how many people play and which pages they use. It works without cookies and without following you across other sites; we only see totals such as page views, countries and device types. No personal profile is created.

How long we keep it

We keep game data as long as the game runs, so your history and badges stay. You can ask us to delete your data at any time: finleyvoigt@gmail.com.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law (GDPR) you can ask to see, correct or delete your data, and you can complain to your data protection authority (in the UK: the ICO).

Cookies

We only use cookies that are needed for the game to work (your session). That's why there is no cookie banner.
